For the Agoge

Developing your core will help you, not only in Sub wrestling and MMA, but in any other sport you get involved in and also just for general health. That’s why we spend so much time on it.

Here’s a good video on youtube if you want to learn it. There’s a lot of points so make sure you watch it a few times over the next while as you learn the proper squat and posture.

For posture, remember the following teaching points and practice this every morning, evening, and whenever you think of it during the day.

  1. Imagine your being pulled up: Your shoulders will rise and your chest will inflate. This might feel a bit weird at first but remember if you’ve been walking around with bad posture for years your muscles have gotten used to it and you ned to get used to a new posture
  2. Suck your belly button in. You should feel you hip bones rising a bit.
  3. Imagine you’re 50 feet tall. This will help you keep your posture strong and confident.
  4. Holding the Push-up  position will really help you develop your posture.
  5. Walk around with the pride in the Spartan you are :)
