Tonight Kevin Croke destroyed his opponent at the Ring of Truth show in the National Stadium!

Kevin Croke victorious at Ring of Truth

Kev warmed up with some pad work with his thai coach, Wayne, and some light clinch with me. Kev wanted to get in and work his Thai clinch and throw some knees. That was the game plan. But, should Tony strong hands, we had prepared to go to the ground and work for a submission.

Kevin went in and dominated from the start. Although a little slow to get in, and he let Tony get away a few times, there wasn’t a single second when Kevin wasn’t in control. Once Kev got his Thai clinch on, it was going to be a long night for Tony. Kev threw knee after knee which took their toll on Tony.

Eventually, Kev hurled Tony to the ground and worked for a submission. Fair play to Tony, he doggedly fought on and wouldn’t give up easily. Tony worked an escape and the fight was stood back up. Kev again got the Thai clinch going and threw some knees, weakening Tony to the point where he dropped his head into a knee. This is a foul in Semi-Pro rules so Kevin was deducted one point.

Kev switched to his hands to the rest of the round and delivered some tough shots. A smart change of tactics kept Kev in the driving seat.

Kev was barely breathing hard when he got back to his corner. Myself and Wayne were in agreement – he had the fight in the bag. Even with the point deduction it was likely he’d won 9-8.

For round two Kev again threw a few knees which dropped Tony, unable to stand the punishment the razer sharp rockets were delivering. Kev took up side control and decided to throw some more knee shots. Tony made a mistake shrimping and Kev secured a nice Mino Choke.
