From the Arm Drag Takedown, instead of stepping behind your opponent, you step in front of him, turning your butt towards him.

Arm Drag Hip Throw

The benefit of doing this throw off the arm drag is that you don’t need to get your hips as far over as you do in most back turn throws, like the Hip Throw from Neutral. Obviously, the further across you get, the easier it is, but the arm drag allows for a greater margin of error.

As with any hip throw, the violent extension of the knee joints and pushing your hips back gets your opponent airbourne, the upper body is used to keep him tight to you.

Arm Drag Hip Throw 2

I find it’s a good idea to land in knee ride, as your opponent will most likely twist on to his back during this throw (in wrestling, your opponent is more likely to stay facing stomach down)
