Double T was a bag of nerves before hand, and told me on Monday he thought “right, I’m just gonna do this one fight and then stop” before hand. Of course, once he hit the ring all his training paid off and he did the business.

And Now, Tommy’s looking forward to his next match!

Eoghan, who is just fearless in his approach, took the fight on about 2-3 days notice and stepped into the ring as calm as usual. He dominated the first round here…

The second round followed suit as well, with Eoghan looking very comfortable in control:

Then, a silly mistake in round 3 cost him the match!

I think everyone can agree Eoghan had this in the bag and will be making more people cry in the new year.

I was refereeing for the day so couldn’t corner the guys, but what really impresses me about Tommy and Karol was that they fought exactly how they train. There is no massive degradation of their technique like is so common with MMA fighters (and indeed, most athletes). You guys have put in the hours and it’s paying off.

As always, thanks to Mark Leonard of Point Blank Gym in Galway (if you’re in Galway and you don’t train there, train there!) for setting up the MMA League in the first place. MMA in Ireland really, really owes you a debt for your hard and patience work over the years.

Great work by John, Lee, and Rob on Friday night. The lads were super calm throughout their warm up and preparations, and responded really well to cornering throughout their matches. Massive props to Adam who has helped corner through the year. Adam’s helps the guys get excited and builds great confidence before they enter the ring. He’s also a nice loud force during the matches – which helps so much!

Lee’s match was unfortunately cut short by a second round knee to the head, but I spoke to the judge’s and saw that he’d won the first round, and in our estimation was winning the second.
