Great performance from The Agoge at the Dublin MMA League on Saturday.

What is hugely impressive about the guys is how well they can transfer their performance in training into their performance in competition.

The lads are always very relaxed in competitions, and joke with and support each other all the way through the day.

Sorry we didn’t get every match on camera, but here’s a sample of what we did get.

Happy New Year everybody!

Okay, so I know I said I’d get videos out over the holidays and I didn’t. My bad, looking after sick people wasn’t on my agenda either but sometimes you just gotta deal with it.

Training starts back tomorrow (Saturday, Jan 3rd) with the Monkeys/Agoge training at 11am and the Spartans at 12 noon.

Myself and Barry are planning a kid’s/teen’s comp on January 17th in UCD so there’s plenty of motivation for the young athletes straight away. We’ll confirm as soon as it’s definite. January 17th is also UFC 93 in the O2 so that should be a fun night out for the adults.

I’ll have videos up later in the day I promise. They’re currently uploading so that’s why they’re not up now.

Thanks for all the support in 2008 and let’s make 2009 Sparta’s most successful year to date.

Danny’s Brown Belt

Big Congratulations to Danny – who took his brown belt test last week.

Danny is a pure messer, through and through. He’s so much energy he really doesn’t know what to do with it! But, for all his messing, which I find pretty hilarious, he’s a great learner and gives 100% to learning MMA.

Danny’s been with us nearly 5 years, so early next year, he’ll be training for over half his life! He meets victory and defeat the same, and always picks himself up and gives it another go, never stopping smiling.
